Live with Anna Sumara

CPCC, PCC

Anna is an embodied presence and leadership coach, Faculty at Co-Active Training Institute, and Founder of Wholeness in You. For over a decade, she has coached, mentored, and trained leaders, creators, and coaches around the world, helping them develop the embodied leadership presence to lead with clarity, creativity, and power.

With 10+ years of experience, 2,500+ coaching hours, and 1,000+ coaches trained, she has seen that the most impactful leaders bring full presence, not just intellect, to their work. Her approach blends coaching, neuroscience, somatics, leadership, and mindfulness to help clients access the intelligence of their whole self, the alignment of mind, body, and heart working as one, so they can lead, create, and live with greater clarity, presence, and choice.

Her work and life intertwine, and that's how she designed it. She loves exploring life through movement, play, and creativity, whether that's dancing, hiking, skiing, practicing voice or theatre, meditating, or simply observing the world. She's always looking for ways to stay embodied, inspired, and alive.

You are what you embody.

This session brings the Co-Active attention to the Whole Person to one of the harder moments in a coaching practice: the client who meets every feeling-state question with a story, and the coach who wants a real way through it.

What You'll Learn

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

Understand what embodiment actually is in a coaching context

Invite the body into a session without it feeling forced

Develop your own embodied self-awareness as the foundation for this work

Recognize what you embody as a coach, and how it shapes what becomes possible with a client

Read what a client's resistance is communicating, and work with it rather than push past it

Who This Is For

cti-lll-2-1

Practicing coaches

who regularly meet clients who intellectualize or tell stories in place of naming feelings, and who want practical tools for guiding clients from narrative into embodied experience.
cti-lll-3-1

Coaches, facilitators, and practitioners

curious about somatic and body-based approaches who may lack formal training in them, and who value depth and technique over theory alone.
cti-lll-4-1

Coaches and practitioners

drawn to Co-Active embodiment work and coach presence more broadly, looking to deepen how they show up with clients.

Why This Session Is Worth Your Time

Plenty of coaching stalls at the same spot. You ask a feeling-state question, and the client answers with a story, an explanation, a reason, anything but the feeling itself. Pushing harder rarely helps, and it can cost you the trust you've built.

This session gives you a practical, embodied approach for exactly that moment, grounded in the Co-Active Whole Person lens. You'll learn ways to invite the body into a session, to read what resistance is actually telling you, and to build the embodied self-awareness that makes this work possible in the first place. It starts with the coach, because what you embody shapes what becomes possible for the person across from you.

If this is the wall you keep hitting in your own practice, this hour is a place to start finding your way through.
